I totally understand your point and I agree but just like both of those officers said yeah its a stupid stop but its out of their own safety. not many officers care. I personally account for MPD (Minneapolis Police Department) not doing their jobs. Just recently less than a week ago, I was downtown Southside of minneapolis and these people right on the corner smoking Fent like it was weed ( weed is legal and recreational as of 2023 which is new but not at the same time. But back to my story, These people quite literally putting flame to tinfoil as the cops roll by, They didnt stop or blink twice, kept rolling. We tried getting their attention but they just don't care about things. After George Floyd, Cops in minnesota are scared to do their jobs and become pricks. Meaning they just sit on the highways no markings which is illegal here in MN. They would rather sit at the start of a turn lane and then pull you over for "almost hitting their vehicle" Uh maybe don't sit at the start of a fucking turn lane? maybe just maybe pull over to the right side of the road like what is Legally allowed. And here's the Caveat or Catch 22 depends on where you are, technically you're not even allowed to be there during emergencies which is absurd considering how many cars are on the sides of roads and highways here in MN. Not many cops will ticket you for it unless it's for the car itself not being on the side of the road. Cops aren't really held accountable as they say they are. A very common trend i notice is these cops are turning the body cams off when they speak "privately" which is them explaining what really happened. with bodycam's, you've got 3 sides. perp, holder and the camera. Perp can't corrupt nor would they want to corrupt a body cams footage. The officers tend to turn it off during crucial moments and then the camera doesn't lie up until its shut off. They need to make it so no officer can interfere with the on off button. That's like getting a DWI and then getting the device in your car but it has an off switch that basically overrides it. That'd never fly, so why now are we allowing that to happen. sorry for my rant but there a lot more than just fighting jaywalking. i agree 100% but people's lives are more valuable than tickets. They give tickets to try and persuade you to not do wrong again, does it get abused? of course like every system eventually. Look at politics or more favourably China. CCP has the strictest rules aside from North Korea
