As a rule, everyone in richmond knows everyone else by two degrees of separation at most.

2024-04-16 04:34:22 +0000 UTCbruh i lived in jackson ward for years. its not really that bad man. ive lived on leigh st, w clay, n adams, and all that was before that shit got gentrified af and forced most of the generational residents. you wanna see some fucked up levels of government abandonment, go down round venable, mosby, and the lower alphabet. during the time i was living in rva cops didnt even fuck around down there. i also lived on franklin st, back when it was still known as hell block. rva has gotten a lot less dangerous anywhere near the vicinity of vcu ever since shakka smart started coaching and the basketball team went to the final 4. they increased police presence by at least 400% in the following 3 years. vcu has since expanded further into the jward area, and with that came massive investments in property development and the opening of numerous fancy bars, restaurants, hotels, etc.
