Depends. I'll try to maintains save-file compatibility so it might be possible to load an earlier save near the branching point and make different decisions. Or I might just add a simple choice to jump to certain points in the story after finishing it one. Renpy (the engine) also has very good text-skip functionality, so it's pretty easy to just start from the beginning and skip all the text you have already seen.

Half of the cast in the game are not exactly model citizens or they have other problems. The term in this context comes from those useless pieces of wood that are left behind when working with larger pieces. Some people just don't fit very well into society. But there is nothing super-deep behind the name.
