I feel most if not all of these traits also apply to Autistic people with low support needs, like myself

The silence thing? Yes! I need to listen to something constantly.
And really like many other things, but I've known for years.
F. E. the parents telling you to NOT feel that much anymore, to start being less sensitive to be "fixed". I was brought up in a way that I constantly was shamed for my feeling stuff.

Wow. This is me. I would hear stuff about autism, etc. but it never seemed to describe my experience. Iβm glad I found this cos I think this might be my daughter too (weβre starting OT). For me I can feel everything in my body - I have to floss constantly, shower before bed, have certain fabrics, lotion (only some parts) ever since I was a kid. Smells, sounds, everything. It takes a lot to keep me in a comfortable state. I can go with the flow but not if itβs an environmental thing. π
Also, not sure if this is part of it but being able to tell if a tv is on in a room without hearing or seeing it?
I canβt wait to learn more about this.

If it's a spectrum, why is it a "Highly Sensitive Person" instead of just a highly sensitive person?
