I have had somewhat a similar experience and was so shocked and disillusioned that I also formed a question to send in around the topic but did eventually not because I couldn’t handle any backlash anymore and I also think there is really not so much to do about it then to be frustrated and stay close to your own values. I get it if you don’t agree with me but please be friendly! I consider ‘the left’ to be a friendly bunch with a lot of inclusivity but man was I disillusioned and it made me even reconsider humanity, if I can’t even feel safe in my own belief group. Anyway, maybe it is indeed just a symptom of social media or in my case, a whatsapp group. That whatsappgroup died down though, I guess because of the non safe space, but it is such a pity because we could’ve bundled forces against our common ideals!

Actually when I graduate in June, I will have my SUDP-T license so when I move back to Seattle, I will be looking for work in the behavioral health field. Hopefully I'll be able to get better insurance, and a therapist who either takes that insurance, or I'll be able to afford a good therapist out of pocket. I also miss Seattle Counseling Services! I went there for counseling the first time I got sober 20 years ago. They had amazing harm reduction and recovery groups that I still utilize to this day, they have just moved to Peer Seattle (fka SASG, fka fka Dunshee House).
