Comments

16:00 i have autism. True it looks like many differemt disorders. Idk if we habe bpd more but all the maybe dozen autistic ppl ive me including myself we badly abused as kids. Not recognizing social cues, trusting demeanor, timidity, and difficulty identifying with peers(we're nerds), all combine to make a good canidate to be a target for bullying. So on average probably more bpd/npd and depression, avoidance but autism doesnt look like bpd. "I hate you don't leave me" isnt a normal way for autistic ppl to act. We tend to be afraid of other humans just being honest here. A teacher grabbed my face when i was a kid, forcing me to make eye contact, thats not going to make someone have bpd though, ya know? Overall I feel like we're about as dysfunctional in relationships as neurotypical ppl. The challenge we face in life is finding like minded ppl who share our special interests or wide boundary empathy worldview. Social norms arent that obvious to us and it puts us in danger.

Yeah think there might be a thing that some people tend to ruminate about their pathology / problems, which leads them to feel „surrendered“ to them and not able to change something. This could lead to the person not seeking help or to slow down their healing process. And this might look like „over-focusing on the problems“ from outside.

Maybe the confusion about DID comes from the fact that in some languages, as for ex german, it used to be called multiple personality disorder although it is not a personality disorder. Now they renamed it.

Melly

Thinking that politicians with personality disorders are the problem assumes that politicians without a personality disorder do no harm.

My heart started racing when you read my impostor syndrome hot take. I'm cognitively compromised by Long Covid / ME/CFS and was unsure about my wording, so I am extra happy you could relate 🙃.
