Dr Kirk, the documentary about the Catholic school you were mentioning is "The Keepers." That was life-changing viewing for me. I was actually taught in an AP Psychology class in ~2005 that recovered memories are not real. The story of The Keepers completely changed my mind because there was no other explanation for the experience of some of the victims. Definitely TW for disturbing content but it's a great documentary.

I talk about this podcast in therapy but I always hesitate a bit because I worry about being perceived as the annoying patient who goes into the doctors office having WebMD-ed their symptoms and thinks they know more than the doctor. It’s such an unfair trope and I hate to be thought of that way. I understand that there is junk-science out there and my therapist probably pictures those awful AI videos or something every time I say “I was watching this YouTuber” lol, but I wish professionals could have an open mind to patients self-educating…especially when we are still coming to get the personalized professional opinions in the end.
