Wow, what a unique episode! Thank you, Kirk, for sharing this incredible journey and the beautiful story of fatherhood and friendship. They say that men don’t give birth, but the way you described introducing someone to adulthood truly feels like a form of giving life—a beautiful cycle. I’m really touched by your words, and I want you to know that your beloved professor will always live on in our memories. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you warm hugs!

Oh Dr. Honda, what a year (or two)! To have to go through the loss of one of the most meaningful people in your life is one thing, but to go through the loss of two mentors must feel almost unbearable. I hope you get the pause and support that you need- because- wow. It’s a lot! Even I feel it- and I don’t know any of you personally. What a beautiful homage you are paying to your friends though. The fact that you asked him these questions while he was still of sound mind and still around is a tremendous gift. I’m sure those who knew him and love him will appreciate it. For us listeners- I find it fascinating. To hear his answers to your questions and to learn about the effect this man had on so many different people- let alone the impact he’s made to your university. How wonderful. May he rest in peace. And may you carry the lessons he taught you and pay it forward in the world we are all living in- and somehow contributing to. 🫶🌎😊✨💕🫂
