My heart goes out to you all in 'red' areas. So much of my hope anchors in reminding myself that my local community would have my back. I'm glad you have this space and the internet so you can connect. <3

I think bathroom dreams are related to emotions. Can't find a bathroom in your dreams? Maybe you can't find a place to express emotions.

I'm from BC, Canada - please include us in your "Cascadia" country! As Canadians, we're worried that the election in the US will be giving the conservatives in Canada more freedom to be *ssholes to the marginalized and minorities here :( (rural-living mother of an 18 year old trans boy, life-partner of an indigeneous person who has a permanent physical disability, mother of 2 kids on the autism spectrum)

And the message of the book Love in the Library is about love and hope! 🫶🏻 great steps to build community, and I will be feeding my friends more.

Oh dear. Kirk, you made me sob. My sibling is trans, and all of the trauma that goes along with that. I’ve been screaming this for years. Trans people are not going to disappear. We won’t let them.

As a former UN staff member who spent nine years working in UNHCR refugee camps across the Middle East, I want to share something with those who feel the immense weight of international conflict pressing on their shoulders—especially when you’re far removed from the frontlines and not directly responsible for the suffering and loss: this is not your fault.
Yes, use your voice, your time, your resources, and your knowledge to push for justice, to stand against oppression, and to advocate for peace. But know that the blame does not rest on you. This era of conflict has been brewing for a long time, shaped by history and forces far beyond any individual’s control.
I’ve been in the thick of it, witnessing the devastation firsthand in the Middle East, and I can tell you—this is not your fault. What matters is what you choose to do going forward. Carry the cause, but don’t carry the blame.

Thank you, Rebecca & Dr. Kirk! Please keep this conversation alive no matter how triggering!!!
Many of us are stuck in isolated ‘red’ communities and feel deeply alone.
This election and subsequent cabinet nominees feels like a blanket permission slip to normalize sexual assault.
Let’s not get used to it and keep talking, advocating!
Y’all are exceptional & love to Bob too~

For those who are wondering, the BDS movement is working. Many corporations have cut ties with Israel and many perspective economic partners have decided to not deal with Israel. I am not saying no one should buy that fucking sandwich because it's your fault or anything, but if you can buy a different fucking sandwich- go for it! Fight the good fight. The only way to deal with Israel is economically. Which is why the Axis of Resistance has been conducting economic warfare instead of jumping into the WWIII that Israel is trying to drag us and the entire Middle East into. As a combat Veteran myself, and an active member of Veterans for Peace, I think that the Axis of Resistance is doing the right thing. By practicing tremendous restraint and getting Israel to spend billions shooting down cheap drones and missiles aimed at their military infrastructure. And the BDS movement is effective and useful. It's a really powerful tool even though you won't realize it is actually working because our media will not admit that. Just know that it is working.
