TToB: When an unhealthy urge is experienced with friends enacting that urge, people younger than 40 have an easier time resisting the urge. Tough or Bluff???

I also think as people get older, they get more clear on the type of people they want to be around and will drop friendships that no longer work for them. The feedback they get from their friendship group is therefore more likely to be in line with their own values anyway.

“If your friend jumped off a cliff would you jump too?” Yes mom, most kids would jump with their friend.

I feel like younger people have a larger amount of consideration of their social group, they care more about their opinions than older people do. People grow up, grow apart, become more firm on their own values and the group doesn’t have as much sway. I feel like it’s sort of a gradient where people just care less about their friends’ opinions as they get older.

It’s BLUFF! Younger people have a harder time resisting the urge. (DOI: 10.1037/pag0000790)

I know that it's definitely harder for people under 25. This may be a trick question.

Older people tend to care less what other think, at least that’s been my experience as I’ve gotten older.

I would guess younger people are much more concerned with fitting in and following the “herd,” therefore having a difficult time resisting whatever their peers are doing.

Bluff! Younger folks are more impulsive!!

Rachael Rutkowski

I would say it's the other way around.
