Tiger Woods: For all of his self-inflicted injuries (meant in every sense), people will follow him off a cliff. Because, man, does he have charisma in spades.

Vanessa van Edwards has done a lot of research into charisma and she explains it as the “perfect” combination of warmth & competence. Too much competence and you seem cold and unapproachable, and too much warmth and you seem like an airhead.

I wonder if charisma could be conceptualized on different “frequencies”, because different types and styles tend to be charming different people. I think Trevor Noah would be my “would follow off a cliff”.
