The Psychology of Elon Musk (Chapter 15 - Twitter Trauma)

Comments

this happened to me, I am in my 30s, I moved into a new building and my neighbor is a man in his late 60s, to me he is like a grandfather, older. I was extra nice to him. one day he stopped me in the hallway proposing sex and intimate meetings. many people said that I encouraged him. I was devastated by this. I cut off all contact.

Maybe also the "no food for the child" reminds him of bad times in his childhood (you said something about a religious school or something like that). Maybe also his father denied him food as punishment.

Blue Dragonfly

This is probably my favorite of your deep dive series! He also leaked a very intimate photo of Amber Heard where she was dressed as a character from a video game for him. A terrible act, and I wasn't sure why he did it at the time. But after this deep dive, I kind of see the incident as a 15 year old telling his friends (twitter) that he just got laid

Can't diagnose from afar but the part where he doesn't remember Demon Mode is startlingly similar to my experience with a loved one with DID, who gets into this vicious, angry mode because somebody else is "fronting" (another person in the system is in control). I am curious... I've been close with two people with DID who clearly had it and were not lying and both had trauma from CSA. Not saying it definitely happened to Elon but it does seem more likely than not.

Just saw on the tv that musk has given 75M to pro trump pac. So he’s maybe hoping to buy insurance? Protection?

SojoLife

I think that's a manosphere notion

I’m listened to Elon on Lex Fridman pod Aug 2024 talking about neurolink, the meaning of life, understanding the universe, psychedelics, and dealing with criticism. He said the human brain’s limbic system is largely in service of the cortex to “get laid” Dopamine release. Sex is mostly recreational. Gigawatts of our “digital compute” of our brain are going to “getting laid”. The host said like 90%? And he agreed. That is depressing to me. (Elon’s part is the first 1 hr 37 min of this 8+ hr pod

Lara

What do you think about the theory that Elon has dissociative personality / split personality ? Grimes describes him having different hobbies and memories depending on which personality is active . There’s also been theories he is bipolar , wondering if you will cover these theories + autism in a future episode ?

Cleo

If I can get ketamine at the club, I’m sure Elon Musk can get ketamine without a prescription, or get a prescription without being diagnosed with something.

MK Average

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Unlikely though.

Psychology In Seattle

I kinda secretly wish Elon Musk listens to this series. So he kinda knows he's not infinitely companionlessly hated by the left.

Emily

Take home message: business journalists underestimate effect of mental health on business

Juicy episode, as per usual. I have to throw in my 2 cents regarding the whole Matthew Perry OD thing, which reminds me of the Michael Jackson OD thing. People tend to point their pitchforks at the doctors, but honestly, the doctors are just humans trying to help other humans get some relief from their pain and suffering. The blame is misdirected. The real target should be the SOURCE of the pain and suffering, which would be whoever shattered their sense of safety in the world.
