Incels and MGTOW (2018 Rerun)

Comments

I think both men and women are socialized to display a certain kind of emotion. Men are socialized not to display vulnerability, hurt, sadness, more “fluffy” emotions. Women are socialized not to display anger and to set aside their own emotions for the “needs” of others. It’s unhealthy for both genders to have these expectations put upon them. I find the perspective offered at the end really enlightening. Even people in non romantic relationships can be dumped (friendships or toxic families for example). What I attributed the negative MGTOW reasoning to is applying a more self-centered (childish) perspective to being dumped instead of more reflective (adult) one.
