TToB: 46% of American parents think it is not important for their children to have kids. Tough or Bluff???

Comments

Why should parents care if their children have children?

Waylon Waddell

It’s TOUGH!

As a mother of adult children, I have always told them that having children was their choice. But, I think 46% is too high, probably a lower percentage agree.

Tough. It’s probably mostly the younger parents in that percentage though. Many of our friends don’t want kids and so we’ve (as a generation) seen how it’s possible to have a great life either way and would be more open to it versus generations where it was basically inconceivable to make that choice.

I'd be so surprised if this were true

Just basing it off myself (I'm fine if they dont have kids). No idea if it's common.

Maybe? A lot of parents of young children might feel that. Millennial parents. Older parents less so.

I would like to believe this, but I don't.
