The Psychology of Elon Musk - (Chapter 3 - No Friends)

Comments

There is some research pointing to extreme reading being a trauma response in some cases. In the main part of the episode, you pointed to that by way of explaining that it could have been an escape, which I think is accurate in some of those cases. Could he have still been an extreme reader even with friends and without a home life? Sure, some people just like reading, but I think more weight was placed on its importance because of his circumstances.

This is a fascinating deep dive, Dr. Honda and Humberto! I didn’t know much about Elon Musk other than what you see online/in the news, but listening to this I can actually relate a fair bit to his childhood it seems (aside from the being rich part, haha)

Sarah Shirota

I can relate.

Love the correction from "antisocial" to "asocial." I do this lots, making sure that people know that I don't want to kill everyone, I just don't want to hang out with everyone lol.
