The Psychology of Elon Musk (Chapter 1 - Intro)

Comments

I literally became a Paterson just because you’re talking about this man. Like it or not, he affects a lot of people. Even in my own family, when my sister bought a Tesla, I said “yeah” because I’m looking for an eco friendly way to car camp and the best thing about Tesla’s are they can run a/c or heat all night. My brother’s reaction was quite different..”You’re supporting Elon Musk…” my sister, the actually purchaser is an E.R. Doctor who commutes 2 hours each way and was looking for a way to do that and not contribute to the killing of the planet by driving her giant SUV. After we all sat down to discuss it like adults, the only thing we could agree on is to disagree politely in front of the kids. The kids, after all are who will inherit this earth.

Just want to add as a Molecular Biologist -- Neuralink hasn't shown any tech that isn't decades old. What they demo'ed was essentially applying blue tooth connection to patch clamping, which is from the 70s. It'd be like putting a Bluetooth connection on a toaster and calling it a revolution in AI.

Come on guys. We get it. You hate trump 🙄 sometimes there are too many political opinions in your psychology

Kaylee M

Really curious as to find what the deplorable behavior is?

I think a factor in people not being able to look past the mistakes of others, specifically in regards to a sexually violent history in particular, is that those guys are so often labeled “good guys, though”. Brock turner is a great example of a common handling of violators in our society. Repeatedly seeing the comfort of perpetrators being prioritized over the comfort of victims in the legal system, family systems and social media at times, I think robs a lot of people of the space to be able to be nuanced.

Rachel

I feel your worry reguarding the topic, I really hope you both don't experience negative consequences from this deep dive. I find the way people only seem to see public figures as good OR bad so interesting. I can't wait to hear both you and Bertos thoughts on Elon Musk.
