Thank you for the summarization! I remember my dad would take a genuine interest in my school work and it really meant a lot to me. He missed a lot of school because he grew up on a farm. He would read my 5th grade writing assignments and almost marvel at them. Really helped with my self esteem issues as a kid. Like you said it seems intuitive but some parents really do take that for granted

I really enjoyed this episode. Very accessible and interesting. Iโ€™d love more content about child rearing and childhood development. This is an important and fascinating topic!

After reading What My Bones Know by Stephanie Foo, I am not sure I agree that just because there are cultural differences with parenting styles, that it makes it less harmful to the children. While not everything is universal, I think there is a limit to harsh parenting despite whether or not it's considered a cultural norm

I moved every 2-3 years of my life growing up then moved every year in my 20s until I settled down in Minnesota in my 30s. Itโ€™s been a challenge of growth to stay in one place and learn how to build lasting relationships. Your studies you cite on this in childhood development are accurate for my experience. But I am changing and itโ€™s delightful. Also have to rewire mh CPSTD and feel the unfelt anger and grief from constant abandonment and emotional neglect. It was a complex journey of healing.

I enjoyed the music . A bonus for sure!

This is an excellent, accessible explanation of systems theory. Maybe the best I have encountered. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
