Comments

Could you do a deep dive on avoidant personnality ?

Aure lie

Thank you for this fascinating and thorough deep dive!

Ines Olujic

The connection between the subtle narcissism and the high IQ data point for me was an "aha!" moment. That makes sense to me that a high IQ could temper a psychopathology's presentation.

Jocelyn G

Could Josh simply have had ADHD instead of autism? That could explain the ambitions with money, stressing with money, unreasonable tool collection, changing directions, failure with careers, being awkward and a misfit, impulsivity, emotional dysregulation, not liking being touched, the way he carries a conversation… I see so many characteristics. I know this disorder like the back of my hand. Maybe Im mistaken..

Liis

My father tried to kill my mother when I was a child. They didn’t have an abusive relationship and he had never abused me. When they split he got depressed and psychotic. He for sure wasn’t a psychopath and he had remorse and shame. He spent one year in a mental hospital/closed institution because of this and my mother spent two weeks in a hospital and almost died. But when I hear Josh might not be a psychopath, how does that match with not being remoseful, being so cold and what he put his children through I just can’t wrap my head around what he did to them. It’s horrible when you imagine the horror they must have felt in their last moments.

Ano

I really think Josh was super paranoid after he killed Susan. Even if he did think they would have never found the body I think he might have been paranoid that the cops would stop at nothing to get him even if it meant making stuff up. Especially when you think about how anti authority Steven was. I think that the finding of the CSAM that wasn’t his on his computer may have set him off to kill himself and his sons. It might had added to the paranoia and made him think “I have to end it before they end me.”

Rickele

To my knowledge, Young Schema Questionnaire. You can also find Kirk Honda's take on schema therapy as a deep dive.

Gabriele Inciuraite

Thank you for that ending. You verbalized exactly how I feel about this entire situation. The selfish murder of his wife and children, is incomprehensible.

Allie

I really liked Dr Kirk’s use of schemas in characterising clients. I think it may be really useful in my clinical supervisions, when trying to present clients. Dr Kirk can you say where you drew the items from when talking about Josh’s schemas? Was it from a schema inventory of some sort?

Vaughan Dutton

Would the buying of power tools fit with the need for stimulation criteria?

Amber Goss

Josh was 1000% a Coercive controller.
