Admitting to depression is admitting to your own emotions, sadness (emotions the narcissist might not even be aware of because of the need to keep a perfect facade at all times) and that everything isn’t perfect and that you aren’t without ‘flaws’.

2024-06-05 04:46:32 +0000 UTCI'm gonna say tough because if we're only talking about traits, then there's many narcissistic traits that ironically could be beneficial for someone's mental health. Once one has reached a disordered level of narcissism, then it's probably extremely high for depression.

2024-06-04 21:06:36 +0000 UTCMy husband calls me everyday how narcissistic I am (which I’m might be in a low percentage) but the thing is; he doesn’t know how depressed I am and I’ve been most of my life. I think the lack of sense of myself and the poor identification of my feelings it make me look narcissistic… but I am more depressed about how not emotionally intelligent I am. Help!

2024-06-04 16:28:43 +0000 UTCBluff. Anecdotally, I have seen narcissistic people slip into depression but I've also seen narcissistic people feed off the joy out of others. Not sure which type of narcissist is a majority. But without that statistical awareness, I would say 50-50. And I'm sure, there's a high possibility I'm wrong, in which case, it will be good to become aware of the statistical facts.
