......I hate to admit that I know this, but in case no one else has told you, that giant release of nudes was called "The Fappening." (Or at least it was called that on reddit.)

Valentine's Day in schools... In fourth grade (we *did* have to make them for the whole class!) I got in trouble because on all the cards for the kids who I didn't like I wrote "NOT". It's particularly memorable because I was a 'goody two shoes' in school, and my doing anything wrong was few and far between! 😆

I have to keep reminding myself that even just the filming himself talking was bizarre and particularly intentional in those days because he would have had to set the camera up each time and check space left on tapes and possibly watch some back to make sure he has the right angles. I also can't help but wonder how many video-tapes he would have wracked up filming all the time and where he kept them all?

Heather Dube

Ah. I'm glad I don't know that. :)

Yikes. Sounds awful.

The leak of all of the celebrity nudes was dubbed “The Fappening” Spankagedden was pretty close though honestly lolol

Hannah Quinn

Totally not the thing to focus on but that "David Lynch?" comment during Steve's songs cracked me up. The dynamic between Berto and Kirk makes these heavy topics a lot easier to bear!

My interpretation is that the Dad was competitive with Josh since he was born. In the last chapter you both said that he must have been jealous of Josh, who had all life in front of him. But I think perhaps when Josh was born Stephen felt he had to compete for his own wife’s attention (which triggered him), and in a way the first kid was his enemy. Then later in life that happens again in his head, there is a woman and them two living together. He has no empathy for his own son because he sees him as undeserving. Total speculation, as I don’t know much about the case.

I kind of feel bad for Josh in all this because of how terrible his dad was to him. What he did to Susan and the boys was horrific and inexcusable as well, but you can see the storm brewing and seems like none of them could pull themselves out of it. To even hear on the last episode that Susan knew Josh would likely kill her but she desperately wanted a girl and was trying to get pregnant was heartbreaking. Ugh. Sometimes you wonder what you can do to save people from themselves and those intent on hurting them.
