Thanks, Layhoo!

I really appreciated the discussion of preverbal memories & the way Berto described his discomfort with someone laying on his chest/hugs. I know for me, I have what I believe to be a preverbal memory that I used to call a “warm milk feeling” as a little kid. It was this deep feeling or sensation of wanting warm milk & it was coupled with sadness & emptiness. The way that I’ve conceptualized that now is that my mom had the tendency to be neglectful when I was a baby and a little child. So I imagine this feeling comes from that memory of deep longing for connection with my mother & maybe even breast feeding & not getting that when I needed it. Once again, I sincerely appreciate the discussions you guys have and the level of vulnerability you’re willing to have in these episodes!

Berto, I relate so much to your story about being jealous of your important girlfriend after your mom coming in and out of your life, versus letting exes you didn't value as much get away with so much more. Thank you for sharing that insight.

Colette

Interesting, I didn't know that

Mormons are encouraged to keep journals, it’s why it’s so interesting when they commit crimes because we have a lot more insight. Like the ruby and Jodi thing, they had journals because they’re Mormon.

This deep dive has been amazing so far. Thank you so much! Can't stop listening.

I enjoy Berto‘s insightful and carefully worded comments so much. Thank you for the dialogues, both of you!

After writing this, I'm realizing I might be high on stress. I guess I'm supposed to relax today, but the idea of relaxation is so annoying.

So interested in the root of "impending doom" feeling. For me, this is related to feeling dissociated and numb too. And, more often than not, good things bring it up. Impending doom is my hypervigilance in a pleasant environment. To me, this indicates where my base line is: very stressed. My flight mode is on, and I'm bent on being productive (something that will get me out of an ongoing stressful situation). So, on that level, I perceive invitations/signals to relaxation and joy provoking/suffocating.

I live for these deep dives! You both are so insightful, self-reflective and openly vulnerable. I learn so much from you and about myself as I listen. I appreciate you! ❤️

I really appreciate how open and vulnerable Berto is about his past and personal life. It makes me feel more confident when discussing my own past. Thank you Berto and Dr. Honda!
