Omg GAL! It feels icky and is notable every time they say it 😂😂

I’ve only been listening for a couple years, but at first thought Berto was kind of abrasive, especially because one of the first podcasts with him that I listened to was the one about him telling his wife what to wear and really doubling down on it. Really rubbed me the wrong way, but I listened to the follow-ups to it, and it made me really understand and respect him, so I definitely appreciate that you didn’t let it go. He has become my favorite of your cohosts, and I even feel protective over him when you don’t laugh at or acknowledge his jokes. I also just realized that I can relate to saying your initial thought/reaction to something and having it taken seriously and out of context. I enjoy listening to you interact and appreciate getting a glimpse into an intimate male friendship. Thank you both for what you do! 🥰

Jessica

I very rarely comment but seemed fitting in this episode to say I love Berto! Seeing your work and genuine friendship drove me to become a Patreon. I’m happy to hear all the praise in the beginning go to a great friend and cohost!

2012? Wow. That goes way back. Yeah, well, you would know if something was off, since you've been around since then.

I feel like I don’t comment enough on how much I like Berto. I have been awed by his bravery in sharing things. Though I don’t always relate to his behaviors or takes, I do relate to his ability to look back and recognize that wasn’t great, and it inspires me. To even see his growth in the past 4 years is impressive. I can tell how introspective and self-aware he is and it gives me hope in humans. I think of the fight episodes frequently. I’m going through something right now and trying to draw some wisdom from that interaction.

I have been listening since 2012/13 ish. Patreon, on and off over the years. I kinda got the vibe YouTube work and a something with Berto had knocked you off your groove in the last year or so. I’m glad you made this episode because as a long term listener I felt something was wonky but could not quite name it. Re-subscribed to re-enforce this kind of content (dancing monkey Pavlov Skinner etc) I have a kind of para social relationship with you and your friendship group so it’s nice to hear things are getting back on track. I can’t be arsed to maintain a friendship group like yours so if you are all good again that helps me out :) haha!

Haha going through Humberto’s phrases was amazing 😄

I’m sitting at Daedalus, a Harvard Square staple restaurant, having a glass of red wine with myself. I’m waiting for some fierce rain to pass, while about to enjoy some bucatini. Thank you both for entertaining my questions about your experience, and joining me for dinner. That will be $2,000 please.
