Comments

I am a trained actor/director who works in theatre. I know it was kind of a throwaway comment but I don’t know if “acting is easier than writing” is true. I think they are very different skill sets. If anything probably less people are able to act well. It it more instinctual and abstract, whereas I think writing can be taught. (Creativity and good ideas is something else…) But just the fact that so many more people are afraid of speaking in public probably means that acting is a less common skill.

Surprised ChatGPT didn’t have Black Swan on the list, it depicts OCD so well.

Mine too!

I actually adore Ordinary People, and think it’s the best movie psychologically on this list, and portrays therapy the most realistically. Also, the brother died in an accident and the other brother attempted suicide bc of survivors guilt. Honestly I would love one day if you did a watch through of scenes like you did for Good Will Hunting bc it’s such a wonderful film that really does a great job I think of looking at family dynamics and grief as a whole. Also, I think it’s great that the therapist doesn’t just see the boy, but also the father, and attempts to include the mother as well in family therapy.
