Half Nelson is my favourite Gosling performance. Although it might be skewed as the directors use the music of Broken Social Scene which is my favourite band from Canada.

Yes The Holdovers was masterly done. Love how well it matched that time period. About Schmidt is my fav Payne film.

requesting recaps/ reaction to The Curse with nathan fielder and emma stone

This fall will be the 10th anniversary of Over the Garden Wall, one of the best pieces of television from the 2010s. I just can't refrain from recommending. Best television from 2023: Scavengers Reign

When I was a kid, and sometimes now, I would have very elaborate dreams with epic stories and very beautiful settings/landscapes. I got the exact same feeling and impact from the fantasy part of Boy and the Heron. I have never seen a movie capture that feeling, both with the plot and the landscapes/sets. That being said, Mononoke, Nausicaa and Spirited Away are still top 3.

Dr Kirk do an episode on All of Us Strangers pleeeeaaaase. Such an incredible movie

Wandering Soul

As a person who goes to the movie theater every weekend, I loved this episode. Even if your movie opinions are wrong. Haha jk!

Candace Thompson

I’m so excited for this!!! And I accept the opening apology. šŸ˜‚ Also welcome back Collin! Your ease with language and complexity makes my brain happy.

I disagree with May December not being exploitive. I think it exploited Vili (Mary Kay L’s victim) quite a bit. I think it was lazy with how many aspects of of the Mary Kay L story they used - word for word conversations, them having two kids, photos of Julianne Moore in the same exact pose Mary Kay L was in. I think the same message/point could have been communicated without using so many aspects from the Mary Kay L story- which is why I would call the film lazy

Rickele

I loved Bottoms also! And Nyad is excellent, well worth watching.
