When I was in school 35-40 years ago, a woman (me) who came from an extremely traumatizing environment—no real family or support— could get half a decade of excellent mental health care ($5 copay) and could then go on to become a therapist without incurring too much debt. Sure it was difficult but not like today. If we want diversity in our field, we need to make it easier for people on the bottom rung. The wounded healer, as long as they have done the work can connect. Thanks again. It is great that you are in a position to give back.
