I followed this closely at the time it was going on, yes, Xanny the nanny was definitely interpreted at the time of the investigation was as potentially being Xanax, used as a babysitter. I thought before, and really continue to think, that Caley maybe killed her child accidentally, but was being very negligent at the time.

Interesting. Agreed.

I love the background info about the top hated people in the country at that time. Super interesting and indicative of the time. Worth noting that Kim K recently had ended her marriage only 72 days after her 10 million dollar wedding. I don’t support hatred towards successful women. However I could see that people experiencing real financial turmoil after the recession thought Kim was extremely out of touch. Also people don’t understand that reality tv is make believe drama for entertainment, they take it way too seriously.

Am I the only one who interpreted ‘Xannie the Nanny’ as Casey transparently half-admitting to drugging Kaylie with Xanax so that she would sleep while her mom went out and partied? It’s the exact sort of terrible idea (and joke) someone would come up with while zonked out of their mind from abusing high doses of benzodiazepines, which also explained her disconnected demeanor and lack of ‘tells’ while lying (which are mostly indicators of fear that they will get caught in the lie, fear being suppressed). If that’s the case, it seems likely that the cause of death was either overdose or an accidental injury (falling in the pool?) that happened while the child was sleepwalking around in a stupor unsupervised, which would have a similar lack of clear blunt or sharp force trauma to the body found in Kaylee’s autopsy. I don’t recall whether she had water in her lungs as well, just that she was too decomposed after sitting in the car in the forest for several weeks for drowning vs choking/suffocation vs respiratory arrest or heart failure, just that they did not see signs of injury or detect any poisons (after that long, a dose of Xanax which is measured in the under 1 milligram for children, would have degraded to the point of being undetectable). As a lot of people struggling with drug abuse and addiction were abused as children, what she’s saying about her father very well may be true, and her negligence also may have very well been a crucial factor and thus still be culpable.
