TBT: My exchange with Santa at age 5.

On Christmas Eve, it was a tradition in our family for my mom to write a note to Santa (using our words) and then for Santa to write back in the morning (handwriting strangely identical to my dad's).

Apparently, I wanted a Stretch Armstrong, Legos, and "space things". Oh, how things never change.

As a five year old, I wrote to Santa promising a tangerine (I had recently been introduced and they were The Best Thing) and also carrots for the reindeer. I did not receive the motorcycle I requested.

Mr. Murderbird, the Giant, Murdering Bird

This is sooo cute!
