I'd like to think that children who have chores are more mature and contain a better memory as I was a child that pretty much had to do everything myself by the time I was 9 years old except on the occasions my mom decided to cook dinner. However, I was very sheltered as a child and didn't get much maturity from having to do all those chores. I think parents letting children have some independence along with some responsibilities breeds more mature behaviors and better memory. Balance is key.

Love this. Age-appropriate chores necessitate cognitive skills, including motor skills, focus, information intake, and memory. It makes sense that children who engage in these chores/tasks regularly are likely to develop skills associated with executive functioning and memory faster than those who do not.
