Weekly Update - Aug 29th

Hi Everyone,

As I predicted last month, I will need a few more days to finish up Chapter 9. Let me explain a little my development process to help you get an understanding of where things currently are.

I basically work in 4 separate areas to build a a release. The Script, that's all that dialogue between the characters. The Renders, all those lovely images. The Code, this marries the images to the script and does other stuff to make it a game. Testing, before you see the release I will perform my own internal testing.

The Script and The Code are just about there, I will probably finish that up today. The Renders: I'm on the last scene now, it's not a small scene and includes animations (which increases the length of the rendering process because one 3 second animation is basically around 90 renders joined together). It will take me a few more days to render out that scene. Testing, I'm about half way through my initial testing run. I will do about 3 or 4 runs before I am happy to release. Testing often triggers new or adjusted renders of course.

So that's basically where we are. A few days away I feel. I would be hugely disappointed at this stage if I am still writing about progress on Chapter 9 development in next week's update.

I've been also sketching out the plot lines for chapter 10 and beyond. I feel chapter 10 will be a little smaller than 9. As will Chapters 11 and the epilogue chapter 12.

I have had a little technical challenge, thanks to windows file sharing screwing up but that shouldn't effect me too much moving forward once I procure some extra disk space.
