Weekly update - April 25th

Hi Everyone,

Some good progress this week. I have complete 13 scenes now for chapter 8 which includes 275 unique renders. I've probably underestimated how long the chapter will be which leads me to the next announcement.

Initially I had planed that chapter 8 would incorporate the summer holidays/vacation for the pair and all of year 2 at Finch Green. I've decided that there is way too much content in the summer part to deliver it that way. So the plan now is that chapter 8 will be entitled "Summer Holidays." and chapter 9 will be "Year 2.".

This obviously means I will shift from the original 10 chapters plan to 11, with chapter 10 being "Year 3." and chapter 11 being "Post University." (yes they will graduate, hopefully if they don't get too distracted :)).

In terms of an eta for chapter 8, I'm a little over half way through the planned story right now. I am looking at around May 10th as an aggressive target date for me to work towards.

Chapter 8 will be around the same length as Chapter 6 was, it is probably a little more dialogue heavy than is the norm, that's not to say it will be completely bereft of action type scenes though.

I've not planned out the new chapter 9 yet but I would suspect it will be of a similar length as 8 too. In fact moving forward all the remaining chapters will be more of this length, not hitting the sheer size of 4,5 or 7.

Quick personal update before I sign off. I'm currently going through a divorce, we will go our separate ways on June 30th. There may be a little time period during that point, when I move into my new place and get my life back on track where progress may be a little inconsistent. In an ideal world I would have liked to have finished Best Friends before then but that's unlikely. I just ask that you bear with me during that period. As I've said many times building Best Friends has been a major beneficial tool for me to help balance my life and work on my mental health. It gives me an escape. I therefore have ZERO plans to leave it unfinished and I am completely dedicated to it. It just may slow down for a very short period that's all.
