Hi Everyone,
It's been a great week in terms of progress. I have now completed 15 scenes for part two of chapter 5, the 16th should be done by the end of today. After that there are only 5 scenes left. At least one of those scenes however is going to be a big one in terms of rendering effort. I'm estimating right now 8 days more effort to complete the rendering for chapter 5 add in 2 days for testing, cleaning up and compiling and I should therefore be able to deliver the completed chapter 5 for around Jan 15th.
This progress has kind of made the decision for me in terms of doing an early release with a three part delivery or persist with the 2 part deliveries I've been doing. I'm going to go with the 2 part one. It does mean a little longer for you guys to wait for the next update but it's only 5 days or so, so I don't think that's too bad.
Your first reaction may be that I've cut content to get closer to the target date. That's is not the case, in fact I've probably added a little. What I have tried to do though, is get a little smarter with the environments I've used. Some of the environment assets in Daz are not very well optimised and increase rendering times significantly, the Dorm room environment is one such example, on hindsight I would go back in time and use a different one for that setting as a lot of scenes take place there. That does not mean though that I will cut dorm room scenes down however because it's an extremely important setting for chapter 5 and chapter 7 too.
For other stuff outside BF development. Great Hire is still on hold while I push on with BF, I've not determined yet when I can return to it but it will be given attention sometime down the line.
I think that's it for this week, as I said, I'm really happy with the amount of scenes I've got done, the flow seems to be working like I wanted it too, but I'll get a better feel for that once I start proper end to end testing.
As ever thanks for all your continued support, I would not be able to continue with you wonderful Patreons, I really wouldn't, it is never taken for granted and much appreciated.
