Weekly update - Dec 20

Hi Everyone,

My unpaid tester, you know who you are :) Gave me a bunch of issues to fix with part one of chapter 5. I've fixed them but will wait till the next release to package them up.

I've also been working hard on part two, I'm about 5 renders away from finishing up my 3rd scene. I'm pretty pleased with this because this 3rd scene (I've not done this in chronological order, so it won't be the 3rd scene in part two when you play it) is a pivotal and important one that took a lot of working out how to pull it off, in theory it should work well but I'm going to test it out over the next couple of days. 

I've also been working on an exciting scene for chapter 6 and scripted that scene out, I had to take a cold shower after finishing that one up :)

From a script perspective, I have about 2 scenes left to fully script in chapter 5. For the stats nerds out there, part two currently stands at around 1,500 lines of code, 112 unique renders and also two animations.

I may at some point switch over all development from .png render images to .webp ones. I'm really not noticing a massive drop off in terms of quality, while the big advantage is that the file size is considerably smaller. If anyone out there thinks this would be a terrible idea please let me know.

Outside of development I've put chapter 4 up on Itch for $5 as I spoke about. I always find it amazing how just putting something new out increases the views and downloads, not just there but on place like F95. People always look for new and shiny! My views went up 5 fold this past week, sales have been steady for that platform (which is not a lot).

For future, I do plan to release to Steam but I was looking to have a game that is at least 3/4 done before I do that. So sometime around chapters 7 and 8 I think. I'm thinking of a none sale price of around $20. The research I have done keeps telling me it's a simple process but I'm not 100% trusting that so I do expect some time will be needed to work on that, that may impact my release schedule around that time, I'll let you know if it does of course. More info on that to come later.
