Learning Topology (BTS)

Hey All! 


Thanks for everyone's support -no seriously, big thanks- to the new faces and the old, its been a big and busy few months for me irl and I haven't had as much time for animations as I'd like. Nonetheless I've been working on a pretty interesting new technique that should help when animating my models. "Topology" is the topic of interest and it essentially allows me to contort my characters more efficiently. So poses that weren't possible before should be more possible now, not to mention my rigs will be more efficient. I've attached a little video of what this process entails and my progress thus far. 

Essentially when I've finished sculpting a model, I then import a high resolution version in to another piece of software and manually draw every single polygon (my models tend to have around 8000 poly's) so this process can take a little while x3. This is an industry standard technique and will help to lay the foundations for some pretty polished results down the line. Unlocking this "skill tree" also allows me to use facial capture software which could be interesting down if I choose to have voice actors for a piece! 

I'm also going to setup a discord, as I'd love to have another platform for my community other than Patreon. You're all welcome to join if it's something you're interested in for gaming / chilling or just having a direct line to myself!

I'm most likely going to pause payments this month if I don't release anything substantial! I'm learning a lot of stuff and sometimes it's not the easiest juggling that alongside actually releasing full animations >.>
