I Talk - September Is Here

Writing

After several weeks in a row heavy writing, I took basically the whole week off. Other than a few tweaks to some comic scripts, I focused on comics. My usual 4k words a weeks (with peaks of 20k sometimes) was a valley this week at 530-ish words. So what happened in comics?

My writing buffer is a little bare. I'm good for about 3 months. I have a massive series, perhaps call it a book, that I'm trying to finish completely before serializing it. There are 15 chapters/episodes complete. But I'm not sure what the stopping point chapter is. Probably 18 or 20. I focused on this story the prior two weeks. And now that I've taken a week off, I'll get back to it.

This also means I'm ignoring several stories that I teased on the list of stories page over a year ago that are still not quite ready to release. Sigh.

Comics

Saturday, I finished putting together the 30th page of Little Witch. According to my spreadsheet, it is scheduled to release May 19 next year. Little Witch consists of 216 renders across 30 pages.

I also did a lot of white balance and color correction on a bunch of the yet-to-be-seen comics, both Little Witch and Statue Rentals. I think tomorrow's Thursday's Little Witch has some of the rebalance in it. (I should check.) It'll be on Thursday because a Manip Render is appearing on Tuesday.

I also started a new comic: A Statue A Day. It was originally a short story but I thought it would be better as a comic. I'm also experimenting with not have pages full of panels. All the pages will be one panel (or I'll die trying). So, there might be a few pages that I'll release together to avoid having a week go by during a petrification sequence. (I don't think that is a spoiler, right?) I'll probably stream these on a Thursday once they are ready. (Or not. Depends on how much writing buffer I have. See above.)

This is a render from Little Witch #28. I think it's one of my good renders.

On the same day/month a year ago, this was the best I could find (August 26, 2024 below, 2025 above). I made that mirror myself. But, the lighting work was still in its infancy. And the pose is a bit wonky:
