Dev Blog 17 | Jel's Cafe | Delays and IRL junk

Hello all, welcome to number 17 of my cool weekley blog posts! First of all I want to say a massive thank you to those of you who've joined the Patreon after I talked about the game over on the weightgaming forums, your support is greatly appreciated!

Secondly, the next playtest build is currently not ready, whilst I have been working on it when I can I have had a lot of IRL difficulties lately, mainly towards sorting out payments towards my very own small house. I've been incredibly thankful for all of the support I've recieved towards helping to pay for this. My focus lately has been on completing all of the commission orders I've recieved as well as preperations related to the house.

This delay for the next build means I have more time to polish up the next patch and finish features that currently aren't finished. For now, I'll talk about the features I have been working on since last week!

JEL'S CAFE PROGRESS

New Customers:

Several new customers are being added to the game, this is all in an effort to make the second seat upgrade available for purchase and also have a function. As of writing I am currently working on the last character, however once this character has been implemented I still need to do remaining work related to these new characters, for example. Their Special Gifts, UI updates for said Special Gifts, new RNG calculations, new flag refershers and resets etc etc. It's a lot of teidous behind the scenes work that has to be done whenever a new character is added.

Once this last character is added I have two more characters I would like to add that both have special unlock requirements, though they aren't mandatory for the release of the next build. If I have time this week I will try to implement them alongside these additional new customers. For now, let me tell you about these new characters.

Angie the Axolotl, shes not super fleshed out yet but the key bits about her is she works at an office, and is honestly kind of tired of doing so. She also used to be in a band called "UW" alongside Bliss and a few other memebers. She actually made her debut in Drawing with Nat: Dream Diary as a little background easter egg, found on some of Nat's CDs. Her design has been slightly tweaked too!

Stella the Strawberry, like Angie shes currently not super fleshed out. She works on a ranch and is a small and rowdy farmer. She'll be a blast to talk to when shes completed!

Samantha the Specter. Samantha is a spirit who haunts the establishment, or rather just loiters there. Shes completley harmless and honestly doesn't care too much about haunting people. Despite her apperance shes pretty chill, and giving her some food will surely perk her up a bit too!

James the Rabbit. James is a very busy and tried delivery driver. He'll only order Coffee with his food, meaning he has much less options when it comes to taking his order. Once hes had his daily Coffee he'll be a lot more talkative and active too! He won't stick for too long though, hes got places hes gotta be at!

Lastly for now, bug fixes!

- Fixed giving Marco or Paul gift item no 1 increasing Mary's friendship level instead of theirs.

- Fixed character stats in the logbook capping at 50 instead of 100.

That's it for now, hopefully next week will have the build ready! But please understand I'm very busy at the moment with IRL junk, so if the build is delayed further I do deeply apologise.
