[News] Animated Wallpapers

Hey guys! Starting today, I'll be distributing animated wallpapers, and here's a little guide on how to use them. It's pretty simple and straightforward, but I still wanted to post a guide for anyone who might get confused.

Anyway, first of all... What are animated wallpapers? Well, as the name implies, they are wallpapers for your desktop or phone that are animated. They are simple looping animations that come in MP4 video format.

They look like this:

I'll distribute two kinds of animated wallpapers:

Depending on which kind you like the most, I'll focus on that type of wallpaper. Or, if you like both, I'll continue sharing both kinds.

So... how do we use them?

To my knowledge, Windows operating systems don't allow MP4 files to be used as wallpapers natively, so you'll need an app to do that. There are quite a few available, but I recommend using either "Lively" (FREE) or "Wallpaper Engine" (sold on Steam).

Either one will work just fine. In my case, I use Wallpaper Engine (costs around $3 to $5 USD depending on your country), so I'll use that to show the steps, but the process should be very similar in Lively.

So, let's get started. First, here's a look at my desktop using a regular static wallpaper:

Open Wallpaper Engine. At first, it may ask you to set some basic settings, but everything should work just fine with the default options.

Then, your main window should look something like this (minus the wallpapers I've added XD)

Then, all you need to do to add your own wallpapers to the list is go to the lower-left portion of the screen, click on 'Open Wallpaper,' and then select 'Open Offline Wallpaper (Animated).'

A new window will open. There, locate the folder where you saved your animated wallpaper, select it, and click 'Open.'

As you can see, the file has been added to your animated wallpaper list. Now, all you need to do is select it, and that's it!

And there you go! A cute animated waifu to brighten up your desktop! 😊.

For phone users, some devices may support MP4 video files as wallpapers natively, without the need for additional apps. If yours doesn't, i recommend using (for Android users) "Video Live Wallpaper" from NAINGDroid. It's really simple to use, straightforward and it's free.

There's also apps that can do this for iOS users but, unfortunately, i don't own an iPhone to test and recommend one. In any case, here's a tutorial i found on Youtube.

The videos I'll distribute will usually run at 4K 60FPS, but I'll also include a 1080p 25FPS version for users with low-spec systems and phones.

That's it for now! If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. The first animated wallpaper is coming out later todayβ€”stay tuned!
