You're taking "becoming stronger" too literally, thinking of power levels and raw strength (your meat head gym bro brain again lmfao). By becoming a smarter fighter you also become stronger, by mixing in techniques and learning new skills you become stronger. Just like real life boxing, it's not all about raw power, learning how to feint and counter opponents makes you a stronger fighter. But not in the *literal* sense of physical strength.
