Maybe resist doing it or change topics.(Even pretend he didn't heat her and stick it in.) 2. Del tries to remove it herself and is surprised when it comes back down or he stops her with his hand. (Maybe lock fingers with her to save face.) 3. He could hesitate and think about what's making him uncomfortable about removing his hoodie. I think it just depends on if you wanna get him out of his hoodie or express to the audience why it's never gonna come off. If not indefinitely, for a long while.
