About the weekend

Hello everyone!

I was planning on working on the death knight but unfortunately, I could not do it. I'm currently focusing on finishing this month's miniatures.

They are ready so what's the deal?

Well, the print is harder than it seems... The print was full of holes and failures, so I redid my supports where they failed, and then I asked my printing group what was the cause of the failure, "fragments from previously failed prints" or "underexposure", they said. Since it was a brand-new resin I believed in that, so cleaned the VAT reprinted the miniatures with a bit more exposure, and got holes again.

The file must have been corrupted or something, so I repaired the file, exported it again, cleaned the VAT, and printed it again, but it failed. More exposure to print again, it failed.

Then someone in my group told me to do the clean vat and look into the light... what a pain it was (don't do this at home). I was getting out of ideas and talked to Fraser yesterday and he said to me to put a white paper over the display (this was a lot better). While looking at the paper I saw some clear dots, they are not black (IMO, this should be a failed pixel), but also does not mean an always-on pixel (or else I would see something on the build plate). I was sure that it was a Display failure.

Before I went to bed my wife told me, why don't you re-print the minis using the older resin (that's already calibrated)? And so I did. I tried to place the miniatures in the same position as before (if it was a bad pixel it might show). Today I took the print out of the printer, Each of them has a hole in its head but this hole does not pass through the whole model. This made me wonder, is it really a display failure, or my older resin is also not calibrated correctly?

I'm completely out of ideas, one thing that passed on my mind is that the pixels do fail at random times.

I'm printing cones of calibration by TableFlip Foundy.

Regardless of my display, or failures, the print that I have is good enough for pictures. Today I will make the renders and release these miniatures as soon as possible. Parallel to that I will do some more testings on my resin printer.

Best regards,

Ivo

That sounds so frustrating! Printer's are definitely stubborn at times. Wish you luck with your tests
