Good news, everyone!

Oh that didn't really blow up much at all. Let's try something else....

AWW YEA. The book is now being read by the beta readers who volunteered on the discord server, and we should have all revisions done by or before August 1st. After that, it's probably one more draft, finding an artist who wants to do cover art and some art inserts, a copy-editor and then we're done!

This means, fingers crossed, we should have a pdf version of Book 1 for sale sometime during the Holiday Season! Patrons, of course, will have a lil extra. But that's a secret tool that can help us for later.

In regards to the audiobook, some goodish/baddish news. 

Podium wants to take the rights for not just book 1, but the first four books of the TaS series, and keep the rights for 7 years. I'm not really comfortable with that kind of commitment, but combine that with the fact that it won't be a dramatic reading (which, come on, it's gotta be) and that I lose creative control when it comes down to it.... not worth it.

However, this has opened my eyes to how things work in this field, and how much production costs should run. For those interested - between $2K - $4K. The way I see this going forward is after the ebook is published, then we professionally get an audiobook done with sound effects, dramatic readings, subliminal messaging and all that other shiny good stuff. 

The other good news is that this first book is the one that basically needed the most re-writing and the most work done. All subsequent books will be easier and easier to fix, so 2023 should have many, many smol books sent out into the wild!
