I’ve been going through a journey of healing and self reflection. The Portals album, by Melanie Martinez, has really helped me in my healing process. So while this sketch might seem like a silly little fairy it has a lot of meaning to me as I connect this character to some of the songs from the album.
This little fairy I designed is named Dandelion which is what I consider my favorite flower. In all reality, Dandelions are not flowers and are percieved as weeds. However, to me they are so beautiful and I consider them more beautiful than any flower. Dandelion’s name is supposed to be a metaphor in a sense for how nasty things can be seen as beautiful. Just to how trauma can eventually lean into a journey of healing where you really can bloom…. Anyway artists rant
