never forget coyote was bored coyote is the most ben of the gods

*chants in drunken viking* Death god! Death god! Gotta be behind at least some of these displacements… We may be close to the root of operations, finally!

Mare Matthews

It’s easy to forget because the time skips have been so short recently, but at the outside I think the 5% boost soul modification was a month ago at most? Most people have probably not even adjusted to suddenly being min-maxed. There’s probably a lot of crazy stuff happening outside of Ben’s line of sight right now, but nothing established enough that anyone can do anything else. And Ben is crafting an entire CITY. That is a LOT of displaced people, who have been stuck in a place where upper management actively resents them. It sucks that there were not enough people equipped with the knowledge on how to help mitigate the worst of this, but I doubt anyone had enough free land to actually get anything substantial built on with the mayor’s attitude.

Ben is simply the greatest and I adore him! I look forward to his brilliant smack down and monument to regret he sticks on their doorstep 😈

“Because the guy who set this up pissed me off and I’m petty.” XD The pettiness of this man is of sacrilegious proportions XD. I am anxiously waiting to see what the city gets named

“Zeus was feeling horny, Loki was felling funny, and Ben was feeling spiteful”

'I can work with the swamp, what I want is to make sure the city I build is its own jurisdiction, not under the control of the one putting me in the position of building there, along with enough land for it to expand if it needs to.' >:) Thank you for the chapter :D

I wouldn't have traded the dialogue for a list of the plot generally. I think this felt a lot better seeing the simultaneous actions in the same chapter as opposed to seperate ones we've had in the past. Like plot wise: Ben commissioned the gods to make the city he was building its own jurisdiction. He went through the city with Thera to figure out the peoples needs, in only a few hours. Then they surveyed the land before heading to bed. So it's 3 sentences and has no life. My explanation doesn't have the context of almost every interaction with the gods being a drawn out slog where the fold easily because he's doing this selflessly. Except he's actually acting selflessly for petty reasons which lines up with his charactization to this point and shows that he's really turning out to be like the petty gods he considers just normal people. Then we get another layer of time in the scene from the complex writing tool turnip has: Ben's too big brain to truly just be one character anymore and is doing multiple things at the same time. Suddenly diving into the context shows how I teresting a single page can be. If you aren't getting the small details please consider rereading and asking your self how characters should act based on their prior actions. Trust me, it makes the story so much bigger than just the plot and number of letters on the screen

Yes, let the spite flow through you and lead you to ruin. He will build a fantastic city that will be the envy of the world and in so doing he will doom himself. People are never going to stop asking him to continue such work for insulting amounts of compensation. They will complain to their gods and the gods will harass until the god of sacrilege just snaps. Then Ragnarok will commence. When the invasion comes the demon god will meet Ben seated atop a throne of corpses. A monument to all the gods that could not understand one simple truth. He does a job and he gets paid. Tftc.

Thanks for the chapter! I look forward to the next!

Bro, the filler is getting annoying at this point. Literally the entire chapter could be summed up in a single paragraph.

God

I am so hyped to see what he comes up with. Just thinking about public transport alone!

Josh

He should go back to the shop and get his jacket

All roads paved with soul plates and powering City wide enchantments to speed experience accumulation would make the city the go to place for skills grinding making it a new capital able to compete with the one where All the trials are situated

Toonin

He could enshrine "Miriads first church" in his own church after the war. 😄

Michigo

Phew Ben could blast through any large organization. Mind reading and hyper fast thinking, at scale. He could reorganize an army. Not to mention pull them in for high speed training. I think the danger to the story is his power is off the charts, and too many of these "why doesn't he just...?" Will pile up. It's good that the demon invasions have a built in power clock. It's also good that with the soul adjustment, he raised the power level of the whole world. That helps even it out. But after the initial excitement, we're not seeing anything really come of the soul enhancement. For example, this city has existed more than a year right? So, they should be in the middle of an economic boom from stat boost. Every craftsman everywhere is a mini Ben now. It's really hard to see how the world isn't exclusively growing. Nobody should be homeless. I'm not saying this to be super critical of the story. It's just really really hard to handle power creep.

k

Well this is going to be the safest and probably the most sophisticated city the world had ever seen. I wonder if Ben will allow churches to build in the town. I can imagine a huge one for myriad at the center of it all already.

SacredSteel

It's quiet... too quiet

Selkie

He is going to build the capital city of Bens Church, isn't he? At least that's what it will end up becoming down the line. 😆

Michigo

Loving it. That's the way of planning a town.
