Introduction (Second Half)

Continuing this discussion of the track, of which the first half was covered last week. These two lessons are peas in a pod. So go check that one out first if you haven't already. Otherwise, open the attached TAB and read on!

.....

One of the fun parts here is the picking. You're constantly changing strings with the right hand, and there's not too repetitive of a pattern either. Could be a really
great way to get your right hand in shape.

Try to have notes ring as much as possible, it's a part of the vibe here.

Each measure fits around a certain chord shape, so if you know barre chords you'll find the below TAB extremely helpful. Apologies if you're on a phone and this looks insane. It should format better on a large screen, but if it's wonky let me know down below.

  Bm    F#    Bm    F#     Bm   F#     G    A        D     F#m

Go slow with this, as always. Drop any questions or comments down below!

Introduction (Second Half)

Comments

Hmm acoustic definitely requires more strength, if I don't play one for a while I struggle with it too. I think the trick is just to play it more often and get used to it. But also, focus more on playing in the open position (open chords etc) before you start attempting barre chords or anything more strenuous. The thumb position thing is pretty subjective so just do whatever feels comfortable for you

There's mellotron layered with it, so yes you're right!

Speaking of these kind of parts, I tried a friend's acoustic last week, so different! Any tips for reducing left hand stiffness when playing this (like hand, not fingers)? I see your thumb is more slanted here than I do, would that help?

Krissy

Man, I don't have a trained ear. I thought this part was a mellotron or something. Off topic, but I didn't get notifications for this week's post or last week's. Weird. EDIT: Apparently it's just me. 🤷‍♀️
