All Night Forever (Chorus)

Funk people! Here's a fun and simple part. It only plays in every odd measure of the section, responding to the vocal melody.

---

The rhythm with this part is fairly important, you might want to analyze it a lil' bit:

1  e  &  a  2  e  &  a  3  e  &  a  4  e  &  a
x       x       x       x   x      x       x   x       x

For beats 1 and 2, it looks like there's a steady 8th note pattern playing on the downbeats/upbeats. But on the 'a' of 2, the rhythm shifts so that the chord hits on the e's and the a's 3 times. On beat 4, it shifts back to the steady 8th note downbeat/upbeats.

---

The chord progression to the section is: Am - G - D - G - fairly simple. The guitar ignores these chord changes and just plays the same thing over each chord. Because both the riff and the chords are all in the key of A minor, it works nicely.

There's another unique chord shape at the end (measure 8). It sounds kinda like something Prince would play. While most chords are build on 3rds - like A-C-E for example, this one is quartal meaning it's built off of 4ths - A-D-G. These chords can be very cool in funky guitar parts.

Have fun with this, and have a wonderful weekend! TAB is attached, drop any questions or comments down below.

Omg thank you for returning to ANF 🙏 I think this completes the song

Extremely fun lil section! :) This is one where I'd never guess what sort of song it was part of if I heard it in isolation, yet it works so perfectly in context
