June Monthly Illustration - "Aberration"
Added 2021-06-23 15:59:39 +0000 UTCI've been working on this one on and off for a few weeks, so it feels good to finally be done and happy with it!
I used a combo of pen and brushwork for the ink and colored it digitally. I vastly prefer traditional line-art over digital, and I also prefer digital color over traditional, so a combination usually gets me the best results. Coloring digitally also allows me to play around with colors and take chances on risky palettes. I kinda feel like the colors on this one will be polarizing, but I'm happy with how strange it looks in green.... what do you think?

I love her upward gaze....so intriguing. Bird claws--need I say more? I will: That shade of greenish-yellowish-goldish is one of my favorites. I have a closet full of it!
