Hope everyone had a nice food bar for breakfast today, and are ready to dig back into another TWRP classic.
TAB is attached as a PDF and Guitar Pro file.
Pro Tips:
This one seemingly has some repetition to it. It alternates between single note rhythmic patterns (duhhh-duhh-duh-duh, duhhhhhh-duh) and ascending fills which end one octave higher from where you began.
The riff starts in Bar 2 of the TAB. Start by rhythmically playing the 3rd fret, 5th string. Halfway through Bar 3, play this:
---------------
---------------
-----------5--
-----5-7------
-/7------------
---------------
We repeat most of the above, but the second time the fill happens in Bar 5, there's a hammer on at the end:
------------------
------------------
-----------5h7--
-----5-7---------
-/7---------------
------------------
After this fill, play the rhythm (duhhh-duh-duh, duhhhh-duh) on the 5th fret, 5th string.
Bar 7, the fill then happens in the 10th position, like this:
--------------------
--------------------
---------------10--
------10-12-------
-/12---------------
--------------------
We now play the single note rhythm on the 8th fret 5th string.
Bar 9, end the whole thing off with a nice little pentatonic fill:
------------------------------
------------------------------
-10b12r10--8--------------
------------------10---10---
------------------------------
------------------------------
Everything above repeats, except for the very last fill. Bar 17, you'll play:
------------------------------
------------------------------
-10b12r10--8-------8b9--
------------------10---------
------------------------------
------------------------------
voila!
If you need to see this all in context, check out the PDF TAB. However I definitely recommend practicing and memorizing each of the above fills in isolation before you start glueing everything together.
Rhythm talk:
This riff begins anticipated. This means the first note hits before the 1, on the & of 4. If you play along to a metronome, the notes would land like this:
4 & [: 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & :]
> > > > > > > > > >
Those last 4 notes are the ascending fill. [: and :] are just repeat signs.
voila!
