2026-02-01 17:15:26 +0000 UTCI enjoyed this drama when I first saw it and thought the leads had a cute chemistry. I agree with your gripe about the rushed ending which definitely weakened it. In my opinion, great quality recent J-dramas are increasingly rare. They peaked in the late 90s and early 2000s, though I doubt you or other Patreons would be interested in exploring that era. More recent J-dramas tend to be shojo or josei adaptations which are often cheesy, underdeveloped manga adaptation aimed at teen girls. Even the darker, more serious contemporary dramas lack a certain depth that's hard to articulate. They just don't have the same soul as the older ones.
