2025-09-26 18:07:21 +0000 UTCSo people have been saying that Maki has no cursed energy. That's actually incorrect. She has cursed energy, its just very faint. That's where she and Toji differ. Toji is a completely different breed because he has no cursed energy, thus making the effect of the heavenly pact even more powerful than Maki's (since his makeup of having absolutely no cursed energy is so extreme). Like you saw in this episode and the previous, he is physically gifted beyond that of a normal person or even a sorcerer in exchange for his inability to utilize cursed energy or cursed techniques. His 5 senses are even amped up more than normal. Heavenly pacts can also affect people differently as well (e.g. Mechamaru's situation - high amounts of cursed energy, and a weak physical constitution). JJK can absolutely get complicated so no worries if yall need clarification on some things!

2025-09-25 15:40:23 +0000 UTCHeavenly pacts are something you are born with. It’s essentially a trade off, a special ability in return for not having something else. Toji & Maki have no cursed energy, but are just extremely physically strong. I’m not quite sure why Toji could see curses though, honestly. Mechamaru is sort of the opposite, he has extreme physical weakness, but in exchange, he has high energy output & extreme ranged control.

2025-09-25 14:41:33 +0000 UTCif i remember/understand correctly, you are born with a heavenly pact. its like an exchange: maki and toji do not have cursed energy (which makes them disappointments to the z'enin clan), but they have insane physical abilities and can use cursed tools. mechamaru explained it a little bit too: his body and skin are extremely fragile (moonlight burns him), but he is able to control a mechanical body from a long distance.
