Not A Toy 130

Sophie's mind was a flurry of deductions, calculations, and conclusions - all rising and being dismissed at a breakneck pace. She sat up on the floor, and despite all the theories that her scientific mind tried to land on - the most obvious of them all kept rising to the surface as the only logical endpoint.

"You broke it!" Sophie growled, her eyes turned upwards at the approaching Nathalie. The redhead sounding more petulant than perhaps she meant to.

Nathalie eased towards the seated redhead, her own temper calming as it appeared they had entered the eye of the storm together. The dark-haired woman noted as well that the world was no longer rising around her, and her outfit, as voluminous as it was, was no longer loosening on her.

Nathalie took a breath; she had stopped shrinking. Her barely dodging the beam had saved her from a much-reduced point of view. Surely Sophie meant to have made her smaller than this...

Nathalie didn't say anything to the furious Sophie. This had been an insane morning, and the dark-haired woman was happy that things hadn't gotten more out of hand than this.

"Did you hear me?!" Sophie growled again. "You broke my machine!"

Nathalie sighed. "I know." Her voice firm and stable, a contrast to the anger brewing in Sophie. That had been her gambit, knocking it from Sophie's hand and hopefully short-circuiting both the device, and Sophie's power-trip at once.

The redhead groaned at that, standing to her feet, as the two became aware of their new statures. Nathalie's eyes traced upward to the now looming Sophie; yet knowing that her most powerful asset was nothing more than a paperweight rendered the now-taller woman far less intimidating.

"What do you mean? Now we're stuck like this!" Sophie's words dripped with condescension.

Nathalie's lips twisted. That was an unfortunate wrinkle in her plan, to be sure. She'd have to cancel her plans tonight, at any rate, but being stuck around eye level with doorknobs was better than being barbie sized compared to her genius colleague. She contemplated Sophie's words, and feigned bravado. "Exactly. Now, are you ready to have a conversation like an adult?"

Sophie stared down at her friend, the silence between them punctuated by the silent acknowledgement that neither looked very adult at their new statures.

The redhead groaned at Nathalie's words. "Fine." She said, brimming with attitude. At last, it appeared the struggling two had reached some kind of accord. Nathalie had sealed their fates at their ridiculous sizes, but she knew she was also standing in the room with only person in the world who could fix them.

Then, as the dark-haired woman was about to gloat, her mind suddenly remembered the two much tinier women in the study...

Inside, the shrunken duo continued their ascent. Jenna looked back at the towering Maisie, and for a moment wanted to help the graduate in her climb but immediately reminded of just how small she had become, instead she opted not to embarrass herself and looked ahead. There had been a loud bang, and then struggling, and then what sounded like arguing...

Jenna was still coming to terms with her third reduction in twenty-four hours, she estimated she probably wasn't far off a similar size difference to when she had first loomed over Maisie and that insane redhead had stormed into the classroom. Embarrassingly, Jenna knew she'd give anything to be even that tall again - but instead she was now, what, barely a few inches tall? Trying to grasp how enormous Maisie was was bad enough, she silently shuddered at the thought of running into someone the size of an actual human. Still, Maisie had saved her from that fall, and got her safely onto the desk here, it was somewhat relieving to know someone was looking out for her...

Maisie utilized her fitness once more as she clambered onto the higher tier of the desk, her dress squeaking as it rubbed against the glass surface. She took a beat as she righted herself. "Ugh, who knows what's going on with those two. Let's keep moving..."

Without realizing it, Jenna waited for Maisie to move ahead and quickly scampered after her as she forged a path. Her gaze tracing upwards as the two walked together, or rather, Jenna had to half jog to keep up. She inwardly groaned; she wasn't even eye level with Maisie's knees! This was not ideal for Jenna's mental state...

Maisie neared the enormous keyboard, trying to spy somewhere they could hide or lie low until whatever it was that was happening out there ran its course.

The younger of the two took in their surrounds and tried to decide their best option. Hide amongst the clutter up here? Head back? Or perhaps find another route out of here...

Can't wait for the next one!

And so we meet another moment of many decisions to be made with even more potential consequences stemming from them.. SO frickin good!! Nathalie is very lucky about the glancing blow. Comparing their stature in this post to when Nathalie first showed up is so so fun! And same for the even tinier gals now vs the ruler measure scene. 😊😻 Outstanding work, Iva!! πŸ‘πŸ˜»πŸ‘
