Solo Presentation

"See, Nicole? I told you it's working. You were stressing for nothing!" Maisie, the other half of the two brilliant minds who had worked on the miniaturization device, chirped up in her squeakier voice.

The shrunken woman stomped about, twirled, before taking a seat on the chair meant for much younger folks - seemingly proving the device was working just as intended. The two had a lot of variably sized furniture around their respective homes during their work.

Nicole beamed down at her dwindled colleague. "You're so right. I had nothing to worry about." There was a quiet condescension in her tone.

Maisie rolled her eyes, as though that was obvious, and clapped her hands with urgency. "Right?! Now, turn me back, chop-chop. We've got a crowd to wow and we're already late."

Nicole bent down, looming over her tiny friend, before narrowing her gaze. "You know. You might be a little small for the podium, and who's going to be able to hear you with that squeaky voice?"

Maisie frowned, aware of a tone-shift in the much taller redhead, suddenly aware of how out of reach the device was. "Don't be stupid. Just... Just turn me back."

Nicole reached out and patted the brunette twice with her index finger. "You stay right here, sweetie. I don't have a babysitter for you tonight, but I'm sure you won't get up to too much mischief. You're so much more manageable now."

Maisie bit her lip, suddenly aware of how she shouldn't have been so eager to prove Nicole's apparent anxieties unfounded.

"I've got a device to show off, and a crowd to wow - just like you said - and I'm not one to share the spotlight. Besides, not sure if they make spotlights small enough to find you..."

Maisie exploded off her chair, shouting expletives and demands at the larger woman, who just smirked and stood to her full height. Her chuckling laughter drowning out the squeaky chirps far, far below.
